Meanwhile, we started recording a new album. Expect it in 2013, after the end of the world.
Finally we got some information about Lena The Fiddler.
As time passed unnoticed… Bang – a decade gone. Who would have thought… But we’re not going to give up. On the contrary, we are moving further and further. And you can see this on September 14 at the Arctica club (St. Petebrurg, Russia). Do not miss this show, because it will be a unique event. It’s gonna be a gig to remember, and you know, the end of the world is near. What if it’s the last chance?
So, September 14, 2012, St. Petersburg, Beringa 38, at 5:30PM.
There were no news since long, long time. You probably thought that WOLFMARE no longer create anything new, and life of the band stopped? Fat chance! We are fine, and we are currently rehearsing stuff for the new album, great songs are already written. We currently don’t play any gigs for one simple reason: in July our drummer Mitya broke his leg (which has become a tradition for drummers of WOLFMARE) and up to this point he is still in a cast, but playing in full personnel is not far off and the virtual notebook drummer will make way for the drummer to whom it’s throne belongs by right.
Regarding the personnel. It has also changed since the last news updates. Now we play without cello, but with a violin. The violin, known to be more compact and less dangerous in case where the musicians do not come to a consensus on the concept of composition, moving from words to action. So… Ladies and Gentlemen! Please welcome, Lena Chikulaeva, the best violinist in the world! (“Applause” sign). And note she also knows how to sing.
Also at the moment we are looking for one more guitarist to make WOLFMARE sound even heavier, especially since the new songs simply demand presence of two guitars. If you think you are able and willing to become a member of WOLFMARE, do not hesitate to contact us.
So we’re not dead. See you in 2012 (before the end of the world)!
Well, HAND OF GLORY is released today. Time to start recording another album!
Enjoy the brand new joyful design of our official website.
Our third album, “Hand of Glory” will be released on 29th October 2010 through CCP Records (as stated in prophecy).

If you haven’t noticed lately, after the completion of work on the new album we have replaced the drummer. We wish Dmitri Belkin a great success with us and to Maxim Znaevsky – a great success without us, with his new project.

We had come from a far away land. The first things we saw at the Hörnerfest were the great heat and the great amusement of those who met us at the entrance. They were really surprised that we came by cars directly from Russia. As we came to consciousness a bit and arranged our tents, the evening began and the camping turned into a medieval town. We felt ourselves to travel into the past by a dozen of centuries.
We were amazed with the costumes, with the bands on stage, and with the fairy fair with a load of pretty stuff and many horns for both playing and drinking.
We have never taken part in or even seen such a venue before since there are no such venues in Russia. Everything was above our best expectations. We could not even imagine meeting so many remarkable people… so now after four days and 2000 km of the way back home we are still there at the Hörnerfest.
We will never forget this perfect party and its perfect arrangement and the real magic of the festival. We brought you our music and got the great experience and great supply of positive energy that will inspire us in making new songs, both live and recorded. See you again at the venue! You are the best audience we have ever seen!
Thanks to Thomas and the crew for perfect organization, thanks for all the bands for playing, thanks for all who came to the Hörnerfest for being there and Special Thanks to Jens (you are really GREAT, man) and all of “Kitchen People”!
Unfortunately, ELUVEITIE concert in St. Petersburg, to be held on April 19, is canceled. Accordingly, we also will not play on this day in Orlandina club.
There is a new frontman in Wolfmare.
Why could that happen? The time goes on and the band changes. In these hard times, the only way is to be harder in music, stronger in sound and more brutal in vocal. That is the way, but if we go this way, he who will lead us must be best of best. So we proudly present our new vocalist, said to be number 1 of Russian growlers, Ruslan “James” Anisimov. The new material we had composed for the third album requires brand new approach to the vocal parts and we consider this as right and natural development. Our friend and ex-vocalist Alexey Redin claims that he comfortably commends his part in Wolfmare to one so professional and strong. He is going to develop his own theatrical projects outside the realm of heavy music. “Maybe some of Wolfmare will take a part in these projects, but it is yet another story” (end quote).
WOLFMARE is confirmed to play at Hörnerfest 2009. The festival will take place on July 3rd to 5th, 2009 in Brande-Hörnerkirchen, Germany.
Other confirmed bands are Saltatio Mortis, Fiddlers Green, Rhyannon, Drachenflug, Attonitus, Menhir, Odroerir, Fejd, Larkin, Nachtgeschrei, Volkstrott, Heidenlaerm and XIV Dark Centuries.
Our music sounds more and more all-dimensional. This is achieved by increasing the number of instruments used. Now added to our sound are Gaita Gallega, Great Highland Bagpipe, celtic harp, didgeridoo, Maultrommel, and… In fact, we even can not imagine what will come next to His mind. He – this is our new Orchestra Man, Roman Belotserkovski.
So, it finally happened: our second album “Whitemare Rhymes” is out TODAY!
A week ago, on March 22, our violinist, Max Zhupikov became a father.
We wish his son Feodor Maksimovich to grow faster, please his parents and become the most ardent fan of his dad’s musical performances.
We added mp3 samples of all songs from our new “Whitemare Rhymes” album to Discography section of this site.
Finally we can announce the exact date of release of our “Whitemare Rhymes” album. It will be available through CCP Records from April 4, 2008. Let’s start the countdown.
Merry Xmas and Happy New Year! Sit back, relax, and watch this movie.
Up to earlier Xmas sales in the shops, we are forced to delay the release date of our new album to February 2008.
The 5th anniversary of a band is a very significant date. It is still too young to die, but may become too old to rock’n’roll (special thanks to Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull for the view) if nothing is changed. It is a date when a kind of initiation is needed as a child needs to be initiated to become a man. So the initiation happened. It came with the contract from CCP Records, which means that the local band Wolfsangel is no more and there is a European band…. called Wolfmare. Certainly, when a child becomes man he also finds his name. So there are no angels at the childhood end, but the wolves are still here…. as well as the dream, the mirror, the mirage where angels live. The ancient word Mare…. The king is dead, long live the king! Give no sorrow to the childish name, welcome the new band! Let me remind that the first album of Wolfmare called Whitemare Rhymes will be released by CCP in November.
Ladies and gentlemen, we are proud to announce that the new Wolfsangel album called “Whitemare Rhymes” will be released by the famous Austrian label CCP Records. The release date will be announced soon. Let us also note, that the conract is signed for 3 albums.
Give your congratulations! We’ve just finished recording and mixing of our sophomore album titled “Whitemare Rhymes”. The sessions lasted throughout 2006 in a bunch of studios of St.Petersburg, Russia. A lot of traditional instruments such as violin, cello, mandolin, bagpipes and others was used in the recording. Keith Fay and Karen Gilligan of CRUACHAN made a guest appearance recording vocals and bodhran for three songs. Mixing and mastering were done by Lazar (ROSSOMAHAAR, ARKONA). Currently we are searching for a worthy record label that would release and promote the album.
Hard to believe, but we REALLY finished recording sessions for our new album. Following persons have taken part in recording: Max Znaevsky (drums, percussions, back vocals), Iana Nikulina (keyboards, mouth harp, vocals), Lyba Maslova (cello, vocals), Rob McReddin (vocals), Stas Matveyev (guitars), Dmitri Yakovlev (bagpipes, whistles, mandolines, percussions), Dmitri Petras (bass guitars, back vocals), Maxim Zhupikov (violin), UnJ Petras (back vocals), Vadim Yeliseyev (choir meister, back vocals), Leo Tairov (child voice), Keith Fay (vocals, bodhran), Karen Gilligan (vocals). Mixing follows.
Here’s a little present from Rob McReddin, our vocalist (in Russian, sorry )
Watch the exclusive Xmas greetings from a special guest of Wolfsangel!
Recording sessions for our sophomore album are almost finished (just a couple of vocal parts left), so we can announce loudly and proudly, that it will be titled “Whitemare Rhymes” and will include the following tracks: Mother Moose Crimes, The Ballad Of Jolly Hangman, In Taberna, Hall Of Mirrors, Mourning Of The King, Shine, Broken Leg Jig, Widdershins Song, Schattentanz, Web Of War.
Yesterday the well known Irish band CRUACHAN visited our city to play a perfect (although a bit abbreviated) gig. They also took part in recording sessions for the upcoming WOLFSANGEL album. Namely, we have recorded some Karen’s and Keith’s vocals and also the bodhran part by Keith for and instrumental piece.
Well, the autumn’s here. We got 4 years old today. On this occasion we started a page at MySpace.com.
The first step of recording sessions is complete. Drumtracks are on 2 inch tape now.
Well, it finally happened. Today we enter the studio and start recording our new album. Details will follow.
The rest is history...
